A powerful tool to prioritize your day effectively: Eisenhower Matrix.
Today, I will share a powerful prioritization tool that will force you to differentiate between the urgent and the important
I am sure everyone already had a day that felt so energy-draining and so overwhelming as a consequence of a growing list of tasks.
We´ve all been there, moving from task to task, as a rollercoaster of energy and emotions. And the worst part is that, at the end of the day, it is hard to even recognize real progress.
A Framework
The Eisenhower Decision Matrix is a simple and powerful tool to prioritize effectively and improve daily productivity.
It will help you to get a clearer view of your options or pending tasks and differentiate between urgent and important.
This matrix was created by General Eisenhower and popularized by Stephen R. Covey in his famous 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The main idea is to never confuse the urgent with the important.
Urgent and important.
Do it now! They are time sensitive, but also contribute to your big goals.
Important but not urgent.
This is where you should try to spend most of your time and energy. You can decide when to attack them, but you need to prioritize this quadrant.
Urgent but not important
These are tasks you can delegate to someone else. Ideally to someone for whom they will be important.
Not important and not urgent.
These are the pointless activities that distract us from our main goals. Sometimes they are necessary but you can limit your time on these as much as possible.
The main goal is to spend more time on the upper left quadrant (Important but not Urgent). This means you will be more focused on your long-term objectives and focused on tasks that will move you towards them.
A Notion Tool
This week I will share a FREE tool that is an improvement of one of my top downloaded templates: Today Minimalist Task Manager 2.0.
The 2.0 means that I added a whole new section including the Eisenhower Matrix. And it is connected to the same database so you will be able to use all the features together!
Give it a try and let me know what you think!
